Kinglake series
These murals are burnt image using a pyrographic tool onto blue gum veneer. When visiting Kinglake after the devastating fires I found some molten aluminum and glass and have embedded these into the finish.
The first image depicts the emptiness one feels when walking through the fire affect zones and the hopelessness when you recall the fury of the heat and the wind, the day hell visited. It was gripping near and far.
I was intrigued by the amazing pace of regrowth .. it was oddly sporadic amongst the barren landscape. The second image reminds me of where there is death there is rebirth but the loss is never far away.
For the third image, when driving through the devastated town where houses were destroyed almost randomly was so emotionally draining.. to be from the city one can’t  imagine the terrifying day the residents endured. This home although standing was disfigured by the heat.

Sharing my backyard series
I enjoy creating intricate detailed forms which are aesthetically intriguing from afar yet as you grow closer the hidden details carefully unfold. Like nature, if you bother to slow down and look carefully the treasures are hidden all around you.
My favorite subjects are typically inspired from the land, the sea or local people. In my mosaic art I like to reflect my immediate environment and everyday I am thankful of this beautiful country, its people and the earth we inhabit. Yeah I’m green and proud of it!
Glass Mosaics
As an artist I delight in the 3-dimensional form. Mosaics and sculpture has brought me so much joy as I experiment with tactile materials, beautiful glass and fossicking to re-purpose found objects.
