After initially spending several years painting I was feeling that my artwork was somehow unfulfilled and recalled when studying how much I enjoyed a more tactile, 3-dimensional outcome. I decided to attend a stone masonry course at TAFE and my love for working in 3D was reborn!
With my bedheads I source and adhere objects to create a sensory experience both visually, aesthetically and through touch. Referred to as low-relief sculptures, they are designed to be viewed firstly from afar so to reveal themselves as you come closer and on careful inspection find hidden treasures to delight the viewer and fulfill the story.
I no longer create bedheads however the technique forms a basis of the murals I now design.
